About Me

Binghe Wang was born in 1962 in Beijing, China. In 1982, he earned his BS degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Beijing Medical College (now Beijing University Health Sciences Center). In 1990, he received his Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Kansas under the guidance of Professors Mathias P. Mertes (late) and Kristin Bowman James. After postdoctoral work with Professor Victor J. Hruby of University of Arizona and Professor Ronald T. Borchardt of the University of Kansas, he joined the faculty of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1994. Two years later, he moved to North Carolina State University and received tenure in 2000. In 2003, he moved to his current institution, Georgia State University, as Professor of Chemistry, Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Drug Discovery, and Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Scholar. He is now Chair of the Department of Chemistry, Director of Center for Diagnostics and Therapeutics, Co-Director of Center for Biotechnology and Drug Design, Chief Editor of Medicinal Research Reviews, which is published by JohnWiley and Sons and has an Impact Factor of 10.7, and Chief Editor of a book series entitled “Wiley Series in Drug Discovery and Development.”
